Wool carpets are warm, cozy and luxurious. They are excellent for sound proofing, and they don’t suffer from static like synthetic carpets. They traditionally last longer than other carpets types too. It is necessary to have wool carpets cared for – and not damaged by in-proper cleaning. Please be advised not to use an ill equipped, or ill educated cleaning company or individual when you need your wool carpets to be cleaned.
Points Of Concern When Cleaning Wool Carpet
Some carpet cleaners are all about the visual impact – and so opt for a high PH cleaning product. These products should not be used on wool, as they pose the risk of chemically burning the fiber. High PH chemicals can also take the color out of wool fibers.
Wool fibers can be easily damaged by improper agitation methods. It is important to use a soft bonnet, rather than a harsh brush when agitating wool before the cleaning process.
Wool is very absorbent. It can hold up to 3 times as much water as a synthetic carpet can. Powerful post dry vacuuming is required to lift as much moisture out as possible.
How We Clean Wool Carpets
Here at Shazam Carpet Cleaning, we use 100% wool safe, PH neutral products for your wool carpeting. We also use an acidic rinse in our extraction solution, which leave your carpet feeling soft and fluffy to the touch. This acidic rinse also prevent any browning or carpet wicking as the carpet dries out.
We always complete extra dry strokes to extract as much moisture as possible during the cleaning process. Our hot water extraction machine boasts huge water lifting power, which leaves your carpet dryer, meaning you can walk on it sooner.
When pre-agitation is required, we use a soft buffing pad that is gentle on woolen carpet fibers
