Today Shazam Carpet Cleaning arrived on time as always to a job in Currumbin on the Gold Coast. The customer required 5 bedrooms plus 2 large lounge rooms, and a 5 seat lounge suit and chase to be steam cleaned. There was also a hallways that needed cleaning, but we were happy to include it at no extra charge. The quote for the job was $420.
Shazam’s carpet cleaning technicians first inspected the wool carpet before the cleaning process. The carpet was maybe 10 years old but was still in fair condition, though quite heavily soiled and stained in areas. Being that the carpet is made of wool, Shazam’s techs used a PH neutral pre-spray and acid rinse to protect the customers carpeting investment, as highly alkaline cleaning formulas can damage woolen fibres. It is also important to use less heat when cleaning wool.
To start the cleaning process off a commercial grade vacuum cleaner is used to thoroughly remove dry soils and other debris. All care was take to vacuum all areas including along the skirting boards and under the beds. Next a quality pre-spray was applied to the carpet to break down soils and stains. A rotary machine with a buffing pad is then used to scrub the carpet and to work the cleaning solution evenly through the carpet fibres. Finally hot water extraction (steam) was used to thoroughly rinse the carpet and to extract the dirt. The finished results are amazingly clean carpet. The carpet is cleaner than ever and smells great from the pleasantly scented apple deodoriser that was mixed with the pre-spray. Next on the list was the 5 seat lounge suit. Shazam’s technicians cleaned it with “Fabulous Fabric Cleaner” which is gentle on fine fibres, does not run colors, and prevents browning. After a pre-vacuum, pre-spray and gentle agitation, hot water extraction (steam) is again used to thoroughly rinse, and clean the upholstery fibres.
The happy customer was very satisfied with the end results. We gave him and his family shoe covers to wear in case they wanted to walk on the carpet before it dries. We advised that the carpets will be dry within just a few hours. The customer choose a bank transfer from our many payment methods, and said he would write us a 5 star review for our outstanding work. Though this was a large job, we were out of the customers hair within 3 hours.
